Taking The First Step

“The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step”. This has always been one of my favorite quotes to look back on when something feels overwhelming or I don’t know where to start.


The real truth is that it doesn’t matter WHERE you start, it just matters that you START!


We all have things that we want to do or accomplish that somehow seems much bigger in our mind than it actually is, but that is only because we haven’t taken the first step. I speak from personal experience when I tell you that taking the first step towards anything big is scary, but it doesn’t have to be.


I have a friend that is near and dear to me and when I talk about “building my empire”, she always says, “the only way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time”. This statement reminds me that even with something that you think is bigger than you and might FEEL impossible- it’s not! It’s time to chop it up, break it into smaller pieces, and get to work!


What do you want to do? What are your deepest desires? What is something you always dreamed you would do, but you haven’t yet? I’ve got news for you… THAT thought knocking at the door in your brain is your soul yearning to REACH THAT PLACE. It could be traveling somewhere, changing jobs, getting a degree, starting a business, getting help...you name it- because really nothing is too big or too small for you to accomplish!


It’s time to cross those imaginary boundaries that have kept you from crossing the finish line of your dreams. Getting out of your comfort zone is scary because most of us are afraid to fail but WHAT IF (bare with me).... YOU DIDN'T FAIL? The real truth is that you’ll never know until you try.


You’ll never accomplish ANY of it if you don’t take THE FIRST STEP.


In an effort to encourage you to DREAM BIG, I’m going to push you and write mine down.


This can seem like you’re writing a bucket list, and you kind of ARE! It’s when you stop saying, “I’d LOVE to do that”, and you start changing your language to, “ONE DAY I’M GOING TO…”.


They seem HUGE but they’re not impossible if you stop putting up imaginary boundaries then your entire life can change!


LET’S GROW and walk hand in hand towards the life of our dreams.




One Step At A Time:

  1. Pick something you want to have/feel/accomplish

  2. Write it down

  3. Think of what the FIRST step towards this goal could/would be.

  4. Make a plan to accomplish this first step.

  5. Celebrate every win/accomplishment!
